Board of Trustees
First Tuesday of June, August, October, December, February and April 5:30pm at the Sidney Lanier Cottage

- Approves acquisition of all property
- Approves annual work-plan and strategic planning decisions
- Suggests cost-savings and efficiencies
- Fundraises for the organization
- Volunteers to staff board committees
Finance and Executive Committees
Fourth Thursday of every month, 5:30pm at the Sidney Lanier Cottage

Felicia Parker, Treasurer and Finance Chair
- Creates and approves annual budget
- Approves annual work-plan and strategic planning decisions
- Suggests cost-savings and efficiencies
- Fundraises for the organization
Preservation Committee
Second Thursday of every month, 5:30pm at the Sidney Lanier Cottage
Vickie Hertwig, Chair
- Coordinates political advocacy activities
- Oversees national award-winning neighborhood revitalization program (currently working in Beall's Hill)
- Acquires tax credits and gap financing for preservation projects
- Creates, approves and implements rehabilitation plans for historic properties
- Hosts educational events to inform the public about preservation
Events Committee
Second Thursday of every month, 12pm at the Sidney Lanier Cottage
Evelyn Adams, Co-Chair
Phyllis Farmer, Co-Chair
- Plans and executes preservation-based fundraising events
- Staffs fundraising events
- Events include the annual flea market, the bi-annual Decorator's Showhouse, the Patron's Party, special event fundraisers, and others.
Education/PR Committee
Third Thursday of every month, 5:30pm at the Sidney Lanier Cottage
Susan Long, Chair
- Publishes books on architecture, preservation and local history (all available in our Sideporch Store at the Sidney Lanier Cottage)
- Creates and executes educational programs
- Brands, advertises and publicizes Historic Macon's events, activities and projects
- Increases awareness about historic preservation and encourages citizens to appreciate Macon's historic beauty
Membership Committee
First Monday of every month, 5pm at the Sidney Lanier Cottage
Michael Wright, Chair
- Manages Historic Macon's small-donor personal and business membership programs
- Retains current members and recruits new members
- Cultivates higher levels of giving from current members
Cottage Committee
Margaret Harrington, Chair
- Curates and manages the Sidney Lanier Cottage, collections and gardens
- Plans and executes Sidney's Salons, Opera, Art and Theatre chats and other literary arts events
- Interprets the life and work of Sidney Lanier
- Raises funds to support the upkeep of the Cottage
