Home Building/ New Construction

Request for Bids, Contractors and Home Builders, Due June 30, 2010 at 5pm by email, mail or drop-off in person.

The purpose of this project is to construct and sell four or five new build houses over the next four months.  The houses will be traditionally designed, extremely well-constructed out of durable materials, made energy efficient to reduce operating costs and built efficiently to reduce the cost of construction.  Only contractors with responses deemed sufficient to a now-closed RFQ will be eligible to bid.

Begin by downloading and reviewing the specifications for all projects in Beall's Hill (linked below).  These specifications supersede the plans and drawings below.  Next, download the site locations so that your bid can address all necessary site work (linked below). You should remember that local, state and federal laws and codes take precedence over any specifications or drawings.  Then proceed to download the house plans below to prepare your bid.  Alternately, you may have these plans printed at Imaging Technologies, 655 North Avenue, Macon, GA 31211-3188, (478) 746-3331 at your own expense.  Simply reference the plan name or number below for Historic Macon Foundation.  You may bid on all the houses or any subset thereof (if you would like to bid on only one house, that is acceptable).  Please only bid on the number of houses that you have the ability to finance until the first draw.  Please also make note if there are any contingencies for your bid (such as a minimum or maximum number of houses to be awarded).  We will conduct underwriting to assess your ability to finance these projects.  Price is of the essence in the construction of these houses.  Bidders who submit competitive prices will be invited to interview prior to contract negotiation and execution.
