Passport to the Past – Discovering Macon’s History
This summer, Historic Macon Foundation is offering two fun-filled weeks of exploring and learning about Macon’s fascinating history! Inspire your child to love Macon’s history as much as you do!

SESSION I | June 17-21, 2013: Campers will be transported back in time by traveling to Macon’s most important historic sites. Each site will offer hands-on activities to demonstrate life in days gone by. Activities will include everything from old-timey games to scrapbooking, calligraphy, and quilting! Our travels to the past will include trips to the Ocmulgee Indian Mounds, Fort Hawkins, the Hay House, the Cannonball House, and more. This program is offered through Stratford Academy’s Camp Eagle. SESSION II | June 24-28, 2013: This session is especially for campers returning to us from last summer or for those who wish to advance to the next level. In honor of the sesquicentennial anniversary of the Civil War, our camp will focus on Macon’s role in the Civil war and explore the sites, sounds weapons, flags and monuments from that time in our history. We will have a weeklong scavenger hunt to make our exploring fun! Register online HERE or by calling 478-742-5084.

Session I: Passport to the Past, offered through Stratford Academy’s Camp Eagle, June 17–21
Session II: Civil War in Macon, June 24-28
Times: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Cost: $110 + $50 materials fee
Location: Campers will meet at the Sidney Lanier Cottage (935 High St.) each day. Campers should bring a picnic lunch.
