historic macon Flea Market

For more than 40 years, Historic Macon volunteers have collected, sorted and priced donations of household items to raise money for Historic Macon's preservation mission. In fact, the Flea Market — held each fall and spring — is Historic Macon’s largest fundraiser. Our warehouse is located at 357 Oglethorpe St.

We’re holding the spring sale April 12-14. Our volunteers have been working since late fall to collect, clean and price all the items that generous contributors send our way. (Look at our Facebook and Instagram pages to get an idea of what we have.)

Friday, April 12, is a ticketed VIP preview sale, with a limited number of tickets available. They are $75 each, which gets you into the warehouse to shop before anyone else. Buy them HERE.

Entry to the sale on Saturday, April 13 (8 a.m.-4 p.m.), and Sunday, April 14 (noon-4 p.m.), is free.

We hold the Flea Market just twice a year. Please tell your friends how much fun it is and bring 'em along if they've never been.

And remember: Members of Historic Macon get 15% off their purchases, so join today if you're not part of our preservation family. You can do so HERE.

calling all volunteers

The Flea Market's success is made possible by a dedicated corps of volunteers. Volunteers sort and shine items, pick up donations and serve as cashiers, among many other duties. Collectively, Flea Market volunteers donated more than 1,700 hours to the sales in the last year.

Volunteer Opportunities

Flea Market work days

Throughout the year HMF receives donations to our annual Flea Markets. Volunteers sort and shine the items as they come in. During prep season, join us at our Flea Market warehouse, located at 357 Oglethorpe St. from 9 a.m. till noon. Volunteers began their work in July in preparation for the fall 2023 sale.

Brew Crew

For those who are unavailable during the weekdays but still want to be involved with our Flea Market (or if you just can't get enough), this is the option for you. The Brew Crew meets periodically on Saturdays from 9-11 a.m.

Pickup Crew

This is our biggest volunteer need. The Flea Market pickup crew is our special team of volunteers that respond to donation calls. Pickups are always at different times. It helps to have a flexible schedule, a truck and some muscle, but all that's really required is a willingness to help!

If you think this is the crew for you, please contact Oby Brown by emailing him at: obrown@historicmacon.org.

If you’re interested in volunteering, you can also email Stafford Gudenrath, our director of engagement, at sgudenrath@historicmacon.org or call Historic Macon's offices 478-742-5084 ext. 105 to ensure that you stay up to date.
